The perfect recipe to help your New Year go with a non-alcoholic bang

This year why not try our deliciously zippy and non-alcoholic take on the fashionable espresso martini. Just the thing to help you stay up till midnight without the fuzzy head the following day.

Our recipe uses botanical flavours to give the essence of a gin taste but you could just as easily substitute this with one of the many fantastic non-alcoholic spirits on the market. Mix it up and find the perfect recipe for you.

Ingredients

Espresso martini

  • 100mls fresh brewed but cool espresso
  • 30mls low calorie vanilla syrup
  • 1 juniper berry
  • orange peel
  • lemon peel
  • 100mls strong brewed camomile tea
  • ice cubes
  • coffee beans to decorate

Instructions

Step 1:

Start by making the hot elements as these need to be cooled. Brew the fresh coffee and set it aside. Alternatively, you could use ready-made cans of cold-brew coffee.

Separately make the camomile tea and leave it to steep to get a good strong botanical flavour.

Step 2:

In a cocktail shaker add the coffee, camomile tea, syrup, juniper berries and peel. Shake well.

Step 3:

Now add the ice and shake again until the cocktail shaker feels cold.

Step 4:

Strain into two martini glasses and add a coffee bean onto each one to decorate.
