Witches Brew Mocktail

Now that we can once again meet up to dress up and be silly this Halloween why not try one of these disgustingly delicious black mocktails for your spooky get together.

Using activated charcoal as a natural colourant, these witches brew mocktails are sure to be a real show stopper at any Halloween party this year. There is of course no reason why you can’t add a little spirit into the mixture, but for a drink all the family can enjoy, follow the recipe below.

*Please note that activated charcoal is used as a health supplement and excessive consumption should be avoided, all things in moderation as always.

Witches Brew Ingredients

  • 300mls orange juice
  • 100mls ginger beer
  • 1 activated charcoal capsule
  • 50 mls grenadine
  • plenty of ice
  • tinned lychees to garnish

Step 1:

In 2 tall glasses add some of the crushed ice and pour half the ginger beer into each.

Step 2:

Using a cocktail shaker, mix the rest of the crushed iced with the orange juice plus the edible activated charcoal capsule. To do this you will need to break the capsule open and add just the charcoal.

In true James Bond style give that mixture a good shake.

Step 3:

Share the mixture between the two glasses and using the back of a spoon to pour over, add the grenadine to both glasses. This should sink to the bottom of the glass giving you a ghoulishly glorious red and black layered effect.

Step 4:

Finally, garnish each one with its own lychee eyeball, and there you have it one easy but devilishly dramatic mocktail.

Enjoy x
